Herceptin No.3

Hi friends. This morning is my Herceptin dosage No. 3. It is a thirty minute infusion. Met with my oncologist beforehand and there may be some changes to my treatment regimen, either change in chemo meds or a change in frequency to weekly dosage but still using taxol. My Neuoropthy is still persistent and should have gone away by now. For those of you that haven't seen me in a while, I live in slippers because my feet are numb and tingling. I have the same feelings in my right hand as well but that is subsiding.

Dr. Meyering will make a decision in the next few days, chemo treatment is still scheduled for next Thursday which is my second treatment.

Last night I attended my first support group meeting at UCI. All the women were young, survivors or still in treatment. It was very comforting to be among women that were like me and unsettling at the same time. You hear stories that are worst case scenarios and then best case scenarios. The worst case scenarios are something you have to be prepared to hear and I was reminding myself that it will not necessarily happen to me, everyone reacts differently and no two bodies are alike.

My port was used for the first time for my infusion, so no arm IVs which was a relief. A bit uncomfortable using the port since it is the first time but I will get more use to it.

Overall a good start to my day.
