One Down

I had my first chemo treatments on Tuesday of this week.  I had 90 minutes of Herceptin which is really a miracle drug for me.  They pumped me with benedryl, steroids and anti- nausea meds then three hours of chemo treatment.  I was hooked up for 6 hours, long day, but enjoyable at the same time.  I had visitors... Brandi, Ruth and Lisa were there to visit and Mom was with me all day long.  We had a private room for the day, TV, recliner and room service for anything I needed.

I was feeling great on Tuesday night so I went to Irvine to work for a bit, worked on Wednesday and then on Wednesday night started feeling the aftermath of the chemo (luckily Ashley flew into town Wednesday night to care for me).  As of yesterday, my body aches, I am tired but can't sleep well and sensitive to touch.  All in all though, I am doing well.  I won't pretend for a minute that the way I am feeling is easy, but it is manageable.

I am one treatment closer to being cancer free.
