Revlon Run, Loving Mothers and Medicine

Revlon Run: I hit the pavement to run in the Revlon 5k Run/Walk for Women's cancer.  Saturday, 8am, 38,000 enthusiasts, streets of downtown LA, survivors, supporters and those walking in memory of someone close to them.  I had a fabulous support team (a.k.a. "Survivor Support"- see shirts below):  Jenna, Katye and my Mom.  A much needed support team at this event, I was waiting for my Mom at the finish line, rose in hand and before I knew it, I had tears streaming.  There was an overwhelming positive energy that was ongoing throughout the event.  I had runners come up behind me on the running path, high-fives, encouraging words and congratulating me.  So, here I was at the finish line, waiting and tearing, with strangers all around me giving me big hugs.  Survivors themselves, knowing exactly what the tears were for.

The support that surrounds me, each and every moment throughout each and every day makes my world keep going round.

Loving Mothers:
Had a wonderful day with my family on Mother's Day.  Fabulous food, pool, spa, massages at the Four Season's.  Love you Momma and everyone in my life who is a Mother.

Medicine: It has been three weeks since I have been to see my doctor's.  Going from daily doctor's appointments, sometimes three-a-days to no waiting rooms or medical beds is a SUCH a treat.  With that said, today is my Herceptin infusion with Dr. Meyering and I was running into her office, so excited to see her. There is a level of comfort I got accustomed to, knowing there were three doctors checking up on my every move.  I have my normal "list" of questions for her this visit...three week worth.  Wednesday I see my surgeon and radiologist for routine check-ups.  More to come on those visits.

Dr. Meyering Hit List:
1.  How is my white-blood cell count? Totally back to a "normal" person.
2.  When is my first scan? Soon. We're going to start with mammograms and see how my breast tissue shows up. If it's too dense well go to MRI's. Scans will be every 6 months for a while.
